I know this risks people thinking we are mocking something that is very meaningful to some people. We hope you can enjoy this in the same spirit one of our listeners did, who actually wears robes like this on Sunday mornings in celebration of the tradition they are a part of. I sent him the picture before I posted it and asked if this was one of his processions. Here's how he responded:
Yes! That's me in the back. Whenever we have a big gathering, I like to dress up in my best black suit and use the force on people who aren't conforming to the religious system -- remember the first Star Wars movie when the empire guys are having a meeting on the Death Star and Vader starts choking a guy with the force and says, "Your lack of faith disturbs me." That how we keep the people in line. We just use the force and say, "Your lack of subservience to the religious structure disturbs me." Works every time. :)
Thanks for the laugh. And thanks for taking time out of your increasingly busy schedule to write to me. I am still a faithful listener to the podcast, and I'm still passing out copies of The Shack. We're growing closer to Him. I pray that you and your family are well.
