His Glory Revealed (#800)

In celebration of The God Journey's 800th podcast, Wayne spends a few moments reflecting on the journey of the past sixteen years. Then he dips deeply into the email bag to engage a host of emails from last week's podcast about God revealing his glory through a new generation. He talks about what it means to be untainted by religious obligation, the way God is interacting with people that is inviting them on a different journey than their parents have followed, and what happens when personal revelation is in conflict with God's truth and nature.

  1. Thanks Wayne for sharing your thoughts and the emails of others. Itmwas helpful to hear also how you are navigating this pressure with your dad’s situation with a focus on God.

  2. Mat 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
It is never too late for us older siblings (or younger ones) if we will just “turn in our hearts,” that is how “be converted” is translated in the book of Acts. Liberty always comes with the freedom to choose.
I liked the comment about the old, dried up wine skins. There is so much of what I sense that God is doing that has nothing to do with what was in the church years ago… or today.
Most of the religous wrongs I see are due to a disregard for the scriptures. There is certainly a danger posed by imposing our interpretations on them, but to disregard them is sheer foolishness. By what other standard are we to discern truth from error? The only other standard are fallen mankind and fallen spirits.
I appreciate your labors of love!

  3. Brother Wayne,
I just finished “His Glory Revealed”. Thank you! Thank you!
I would like to make a comment about “generations”,
My wife and I are in our late 70s, and approximately 10 to 12 years ago we began to hear a different but wonderful sound from heaven. It was life-giving truth that began to transform our lives, our intimacy with God and nourish our souls. It bore the fruit of God in our lives. It was light, it was freedom, it was transforming, it was the true manna from heaven, yet it was not confirmed by the majority of the Christian voices surrounding us.
The servants that God used most to minister to us along “The Way”, were Dudley Hall, (Kerygma Ventures), Alan Wright, (Alan Wright Ministries), and Andrew Farley (Andrew Farley Ministries) & Church Without Religion). And, most recently, Wayne Jacobson, (The God Journey). Thank you brother for your faithfulness to God’s call on your life. We are thankful for these voices that God has used to give witness to what we were sure we were hearing, to encourage us, to speak life to us, and help us on our journey. We are no longer moving forward with shaking knees, but with confidence and assurance that we are hearing and moving forward with our God!
I began by saying I wanted to make a comment about generations. I am thankful for this younger chronological generation, that has been born at this specific point in time, to advance God’s Story, through their lives to others in their sphere of influence.
When I think of generations, I also think of Biblical epochs of time, (The days of Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, David, The Prophets, Jesus, the Church Age…..) all determined by God, to accomplish God’s unfolding purpose in the earth during their lifetimes. Regardless of our age, we are all invited to participate, to play our part in His, still unfolding story. If we are still alive, and He has yet to return, we have a part to play in His unfolding Story! Hallelujah!
    Grace and Peace Brother,
    Ron and Jan

  4. Thank you Wayne, for the God Journey. I jumped in at the middle of the movie, after the birthing of ‘The Shack’ and I’m one of the ones that went back and listened from the beginning. Through all the seasons of the podcast, it has been your perseverance and faith that I have admired the most, when you could have given this up many times, yet hung in there because there has always been an audience, often shifting, that has wanted and needed what you have to say, even if you have said it many times. For many it may be the first time hearing it, or for those who have heard it before, hearing it in a different way based on their own respective journeys. May there be 800 more, or not, based on what God has in store. To think that the God Journey could outlive you, and us, may be beyond the realm of thought, or possiblity, but I truly believe that what is shared here definitely has a eternal perspective. You are definitely a brother in the faith to me!
