The World in Turmoil (#1026)

"President Trump has been anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire to cause Armageddon and mark his return to earth." So said a base commander last week to his troops, according to a document filed with the Military Religious Freedom Foundation. Two hundred more similar complaints were also filed from 50 different military installations around the world. What do we make of this and the escalating war against ancient Babylon by what many consider to be modern-day Babylon? Kyle and Wayne take a look at the current geopolitical crisis and what it might portend for our world. They also ponder a C.S. Lewis quote that said the enemy often lures us deeply into one error by introducing the opposite error, so that our retreat from that one will blind us to the one we're already in.

  1. I may be wrong, but doesn’t Revelations talk about Jesus defeating all human armies and governments? I know it doesn’t designate one country as favored above others, since it talks about all nations and languages worshipping Him. I look forward to that.

  2. Honestly, I should Never vote for anybody or support anybody who only cares about their own tribe. We’re All in This together, no exclusions! What about our enemies, we can all learn to love them and pray for their good too, it is our undiscovered superpower!

Even in the Quran, (if we’re not afraid of a simple book) “Good and evil are not equal. Repel evil with good, and the person who was your enemy becomes like an intimate friend”….remember!, TRUST LOVE!..even for our enemies!

  3. I have listened to most of the God Journey episodes over the years. They have been very nice as encouragement as I have learned over the years that no one has all of the answers and that we absolutely need to stay connected with the Lord and live by His leading. Obviously it takes trust which takes an embracing of the truth that God truly does adore me/us. It really took having kids to even start to internalize that (plus a lot of time). I do also like the idea of ‘justice’ instead of righteousness in terms of loving others and doing our best to respect and understand that others are also (hopefully) doing the best they can as well. Mutual respect goes a long way towards building good relationships that can engender good communication with each other. This was hard for me to learn for awhile but hopefully I am doing much better in that arena as I grow up in the Lord. I have seen firsthand (quite often actually) where a bit of kindness can change someone’s day instantly. Who knows what that moment can do for their overall lives but it makes me happy that I can bring a little brightness into someone’s life by simply being kind and considering that they are equally as human and equally as important to the Lord as I am. This is where the political conversation falls apart. We forget that others have different experiences and therefore different ways of looking at the world. If we could simply learn to respect each other then perhaps we could listen to each other. I am in no way supportive of corruption and the misuse of power no matter how you slice it. I do think a government needs to do its best for its people but it seems we have completely lost that idea in our modern world. What is currently happening in the world is a very good reflection of how lost we have become. We have unfortunately lost the ability to act and behave with a sense of humbleness and honor…things that are vital to be able to acknowledge humans as humans. We celebrate evil and condemn the good far too often and it seems to be reflected in the fact that there is no longer any transparency or truth telling from those who are constantly concerned with power over all else. I don’t know how deep the lies and deceit go but it does appear to me that the ‘Lord of the Rings’ lesson about power seems to always be at play. I do pray for simply decent people to do their best and tell the truth, even if they deem it dangerous to do so. It takes bravery for people in power to tell others what is really going on and so it appears that there are a lot of power plays, levers being used, and threats on the table that are directing the world stage right now. I don’t think it is simple. It seems that there is a great deal of demonic influence at the moment as well as the results always seem to destroy innocent people, a sure sign of evil in my mind. This seems to have been happening for a very long time now but the evil embedded inside of it all simply seems to be getting bolder. I have a number of children and a growing number of grandchildren. I do trust the Lord and I hope His plans for the near future also include a good fruitful life for them. I know at some point history is going to run out and I am okay with that. I simply have loved my life, having kids and the whole bit and do pray that they all get to experience those things as well. Anyhow, I have always appreciated the podcast but just wanted to share a few things after listening to ‘The World in Turmoil.’ Thanks

  4. Thoughtful suggestion , to help all the listeners would be to daylight the enormous amount of psychological warfare being used on people around the globe . Awareness of this as a reality is the only path to genuine conversation today . I would juxtapose this with how the adversary works on the mind in spiritual warfare . Thank you ! for all the effort you both put into this work for people you do not know or see ,,,,,very loving indeed .
