The Grace You Have to Give (#883)

You cannot give what you do not have, especially when trying to hold someone else's pain. That seems obvious, right? And yet, many of us feel pressured to try and offer what we do n t have to give. Wayne and Kyle discuss the importance of recognizing where we are in God's transformation process so we can know if we have the reserves of grace to he p someone else. And if not, how we can honestly own up to that, as we help them find other resources for their pain. They also talk about navigating anger, loving others, especially in our encounters with strangers, and the problem of putting an authentic gospel into a vehicle for the mass media.

  • DATE CHANGE: The next Jake Colsen Book Club session will be held Sunday, March 5, at 1:30 pm PST.  You'll have to work that out in your own time zone. We will explore Chapter 10: Won to Trust, as we process how Jesus teaches us to trust him and what he wants, rather than trying to get him to give us the outcomes we want for ourselves. We will stream it live on my Facebook Author Page, but if you want to be part of the conversation, you can get a link to the Zoom Room by emailing Wayne and asking for it.
