A Passion for Spiritual Maturity (#991)

In their younger days, Kyle and Wayne felt a powerful drive for spiritual maturity, albeit in a mostly performance-based, competitive environment. How has that changed as they've learned to rest in the confidence of Father's love? This leads to a raw conversation about God's passion for our maturity and how we embrace it. It also leads to a discussion about how we view salvation. If it is amnesty for our failures in this age, and then we're instantly transformed to purity in the coming one, what does that mean for being made complete here or there?  If it's a process God loves, wouldn't our love for him make it something we desire as well?

  1. If have a theory, when a person receives Christ, love overflows on them – like a Baby that is hungry = gets food, full diper =cleansed, screams= someone rushes to hold it and pour love on it, when it lets out a fart= everyone giggles with Joy (I found out that changes if you get older)

Then we enter Religion and years later we scream to him to give us “The first love”.

The truth is he never held back love from us.

As maturing, become a disciple (a learner), we have the joy to explore – that he is who he sais he is.

Trouble we have with “works” because insteed of living out “Life” we have the tendency to perfom.

When Paul said, he is praying more in the spirit than you all – he was not boasting.

    Same with 1.Kor 15, 10
10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain; but I labored even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me.

We have all experience this difference! Between for example reading the bible and reading it and the spirit of Scripture opens up showing Jesus the word.

The first boring like a washingmaschine manual, the second refreshing and full of Joy.

So I guess can you spend Times in word, prayer, loving on people, fellowship, worship even in sharing the word (let me get bold: healing, cast out demons, raise the dead)
    – yes when it springs out of living out of the life and love of god instead of perfoming or exaltation of self.
What is mostly seen on Christian TV is not it.

    The yourney is maturing.
Sorry, when my english is broken.

  2. Hi Dieter, Sue in Canada….your English overall is quite good and I appreciated what you had to say about this journey or progress in learning Jesus’ love and moving away from performance. I also experience that tension and there are moments of joy as we become Jesus’ disciples. Blessings, Sue
